1955 MG TF 1500 ROADSTER – MANUAL – 36,236 MILES SHOWING The 1955 MG TF 1500 Roadster is a classic British sports car, featuring a 1,466 cc XPEG inline-four engine producing 63bhp (47Kw). The car was designated TF1500, and externally distinguished by a cream background enamel nameplate on both sides of the bonnet, placed just to the rear of the forward bonnet-release buttons. Only about 3,400 units were produced between 1954 and 1955, making it the rarest of the post-war T-series MGs. It is characterized by its 4-speed manual transmission, rack and pinion steering, and a top speed of roughly 145kph. This lovely example presents in Red with Tan interior trim. A matching numbers car delivered new in Melbourne in 1955. We hold considerable records of it’s earlier life both in Victoria and now under current South Australian ownership. Powered by that XPEG 1.5 Litre 4 cylinder engine, it produced 47kw and 106Nm of power and torque, delivered to the rear wheels via a 4 speed manual gearbox. Performance figures suggested at the time of release 0-100kph in 18.0 secs and top speed near 140kph. Performance wasn’t the key feature of the TF, rather it was an extension in the prettiest form of the pre-war T series and more about touring the lovely English or Australian country lanes with the wind in your hair and smell of spring. Currently on Historic registration in South Australia, this is not transferable, however it would be eligible for similar schemes in other jurisdictions. The current SA plates “TF” may be available if the car is car is sold to another SA resident. Available to admire on our state of the art showroom floor in Adelaide. We can arrange transport door to door Australia wide, or you might like to drive it down another country lane to your abode. more

1948 MG TC Roadster – Manual
$54,900*
1948
1,081 km

1948 MG TC ROADSTER – 1,081 MILES SHOWING Probably one of the most popular MG models ever made, this model is really just a post war example of the earlier TA and TB pre war models, which had to be suspended during the war years as the Abingdon MG factory was turned over to the Ministry of Defence to assist in the war production of weapons and materials. The US servicemen based in the UK during the war just fell in love with MG Midget design and driving down English country lanes, so when the conflict was over and they were sent home, they pined for this car. Lovingly known by many past and present owners as “bone shakers”, they are such fun cars to drive because they deserve all your attention and give you back so many reasons to smile. As a direct result of US demand, the TC was developed by MG and export sales sky rocketed. Later models, particularly the MGA and MGB directly were riding on the initial success of the TC’s US market success. Presented here is a much loved and restored TC #9260, in a very traditional colour combination of Green with Green interior and a Tan coloured roof. We hold an original style instruction manual (Handbook), which comes with the car. Powered originally by a 1.25Lt 4 cylinder engine, it produced (54.4bhp) 40.6Kw of power, delivered to the rear wheels via a 4 speed manual gearbox. Performance figures suggest 0-100kph in 21.3 secs and a top speed near 130kph. The current owner has supplied the a large folder of documents, magazines, parts catalogue and photos relating to the current condition of the car. He purchased the car in 1986, so there is a wealth of knowledge, love, toil and expense put into this car over nearly 40 years of ownership. This example would please the most fastidious MG enthusiast and would be an ideal car for classic car events, show and shines and cruises. Eligible for Historic registration in most jurisdictions, this equates to minimal on road costs. The current SA plates # 308-783 are not available with this sale. Available to admire on on our state of the art showroom floor in Adelaide. We can arrange transport door to door Australia wide. more
