1971 HOLDEN TORANA LC GTR SEDAN – MANUAL – 82,283 MILES SHOWING Presenting in Plumdinger Purple (568-12573) with Black interior trim. Delivered new by Zupps Motors Pty Ltd of Mt Gravatt Qld on the 11th of June 1971. We hold both original handbook and service book for this vehicle, which shows the original owner’s details and also the original Qld number plate PTN-364. Amazingly, we hold those plates too, but the car is now registered in South Australia with number RLC710, which may be available if the car is sold in South Australia. The service book shows some early servicing by the delivering dealer. The current owner has these words to update us on the car’s more recent service attention:- “Last oil change was April this year, wouldn’t have travelled more than 250kms… my dad (who is a mechanic) does it every 6 months regardless of kms, In the last 12 months I’ve had the break master cylinder refurbished by power breaks Gilles Plains, front end rebuild, tail shaft uni joints replaced, brand new carpet installed for a refreshment, The underneath of carpet has dynamat installed for a more quieter ride. The tyres were replaced in February of 2022 to make sure they are safe and roadworthy.” We are also informed that the car had a bare metal re-spray in Acrylic lacquer and new trim back in 1996. The Holden Historical Services Production Report # 0241103143T tells us all about the car as delivered new. The engine has been changed to a 186ci in the past, but is a period correct Holden unit. Powered originally by a 2.6Lt (161ci) 6cylinder engine, it produced 93.5Kw and 203Nm of power and torque, delivered to the rear wheels via a 4 speed manual gearbox. Performance figures at the time of release suggested 0-100kph in 10.8 secs and a top speed near 175kph. These original performance figures may have been improved to a degree owing to the 186ci engine, however we have no current performance figures to quote. A very well presented LC Torana GTR with history, books and original plates to complete the picture. It is a credit to it’s current and former owners. Eligible for Historic registration in most jurisdictions, this equates to minimal on road costs. An ideal classic to enjoy on club events, show & shines or just a cruise to your favourite destination. Available to inspect on our state of the art showroom floor in Adelaide. We can arrange transport door to door Australia wide.
