As a “Big Healey,” it features a robust 2.9 Litre straight-six engine and was the primary production model before the transition to wind-up windows in 1962. This example was delivered new to the Car Mart Ltd of Ealing London on the 27th of October 1961. Presenting in it’s original colour of Colorado Red and Red interior trim. We hold a copy of the BMIHT Production Record Trace Certificate # 95/8285. This shows some differences in it’s original form, namely engine and wheel change. We also hold acknowledgement from the Federal Government’s Department of Infrastructure & Transport that this car must have entered Australia prior to 1989, which is when the Motor Vehicle Standards Act commenced the current Import Approval scheme. Technical Specification Engine 2,912 cc (2.9 L) BMC C-Series I6 Power 132 bhp (98.4Kw) @ 4,750 rpm Torque 167 lb-ft (226 Nm) @ 3,000 rpm Fuel System Triple SU HS4 carburettors Transmission 4-speed manual (with Laycock de Normanville overdrive on 3rd & 4th gears) Brakes Front Girling discs; rear drums Suspension Independent front (coil springs); live rear axle (leaf springs) Chassis Separate steel ladder-type frame with steel and aluminium body panels We hold some service records for this car from Healey specialists in Victoria, The Healey Factory and most recently dated the 9th of April 2024. The car comes with both a good soft top and full tonneau cover for both types of driving pleasure.
